How did you spend your free time when you weren't playing? ![]() Autographs took almost two hours after the late games and it was such a cool atmosphere.ĩ. because we got to play at the stadium where "A League of Their Own" was filmed and it was sold out. Which city was your favorite that you played in this summer and why? KR: My favorite was the all white jersey with blue belt and socks.Ĩ. What was your favorite jersey combo the Pride wore this season? Love what you do and love what you do it for.ħ. KR: Do it because you love it, not because you're good at it or someone else wants you to. What advice would you give to younger athletes hoping to play professional softball? On the road, we would eat breakfast, go out and explore and then play.Ħ. 0 1 of 5 Virginia Tech’s Keely Rochard ranks second in Division I in strikeouts (197) and third in wins (19). KR: When we played at home, we would go to the beach all day and then have the game at night and repeat. She suffered the loss in the final game of her college career. What did your daily schedule look like while playing in the league? Virginia Tech ace Keely Rochard leaves the circle in the third inning after being pulled by coach Pete D’Amour. Or, the last week of season, four of us got an Airbnb in Cocoa Beach and we made dinners together and just enjoyed our last week together!ĥ. KR: My favorite memory was either being on the road for four weeks, just being able to experience different places and sights. What was your favorite memory from this summer? KR: It prepared me because at Virginia Tech, I was able to determine a lot on my own that would help make me successful, such as calling my own pitches and throwing bullpens based on when I thought I needed them or how long I needed them. How did your time with Virginia Tech prepare you for the WPF? KR: I learned that I had to pitch a little differently, the strike zone is a lot bigger.ģ.
