![]() ![]() ![]() The museum probably isn't for everyone, if you aren't in possession of a fairly open mind and are not interested in the history of erotic art, sex toys and in sexuality then this museum may not be for you. But If you're intrigued by my descriptions and photos (rather than put off) then you will enjoy it. The only criticism might be that there are no interactive exhibits and the full price tickets are a bit much. Truly there is lots to see and video screens are peppered about the space. Some people boast of things they have done, some leave quite sad message such as "I am polyamorous and don't know how to tell my boyfriend". By the toilets there's a space where people can write down thoughts on sex and sexuality. There's a gallery on male gay sex with both photos, videos and books. There's a cinema showing a variety of material from vintage 70s porn to an educational animated film on trans issues. My wife wanted to learn more about toys she hasn't tried. A more hands-on experience of these would have been interesting and fun. There's a good display of more modern sex toys which sadly (but perhaps understandably) one is not supposed to touch. These were provided by sponsors (ie the makers of the equipment). There's a graphic but quite erotic setup on electro-sex and another later on about bondage and S&M. There's another exhibit mostly of a written timeline concerning US obscenity laws and specifically relating to the movie "Deep Throat". Move on and there's some large props from the porn "Star Wars" parody film, and ancient artifacts such as Chinese etchings, south American figurines, ancient dildos etc All fascinating and well presented. There's a large section on sex education and sexual health, and another on sex scandals involving politicians and religious figures. At the entrance to the museum itself we were "greeted" by two animatronic flashers, before moving onto the exhibits. I went with my wife and two friends, all very broadminded people. The lobby itself has enough to give you an idea what you will see within. We were greeted cheerily at the desk, told about the museum being on two floors and what to expect. The best value is to be had via the Groupon offer, which gives 2-for-1 offers on the tickets. I am recommending this museum to all my friends and students who visit Las Vegas! I think it might make a fun place to take a bachelor or bachelorette outing, if you could work out a group price. It was a fun few hours for a Sunday afternoon, but please be sure you are open-minded to what you will see. There is a great art exhibit, beautiful ancient panels of erotic art, gizmos and gadgets and peep shows, informative posters on genitalia, information about sex scandals, a limited but interesting gay art gallery, and even a little theater showing films continuously. I would teach a college class in there if I could! My husband just found it fun and fascinating. I am a sociologist, so I found much of the information in the exhibits very interesting and valuable to pass along to my students. Make the trip! We got a senior discount, so it was very reasonable, and definitely worth the full price. My husband and I accidentally came across this museum when we got lost on the back road where it's located. ![]()
